How to Copy Media Across Portals

The copy feature allows you to copy media between portals or within the same portal, including associated metadata.

NOTE:

  • You cannot delete media during the copy process.
  • Publish and view settings of the destination portal are applied to the copied media.

Prerequisites

Ensure you belong to a group with the Upload and manage all content permission enabled.

Copy Media to Another Portal

  1. In VIDIZMO, go to Admin > Media Manager.
  2. Select Copy from the overflow menu of the media.
  3. In the Copy modal, select the destination portal from the Portals list.
  4. Select the destination folder within the portal.
  5. Use the metadata dropdown to select which metadata to copy with the media.
  6. Select Copy to start the copying process.

Copyable Metadata

  • Insights - OCR, Transcription, Face, Brand, Emotion, Sentiment, Label, Topic, Keyword, Speaker, Annotation, Object, Person, Language
  • Interactivity - Handout
  • Weapon - Gun, Knife
  • Vehicle - Car, Bike, Bus, License Plate, Truck
  • Basic Metadata (selected by default) - Custom Attributes, Tags, Description, Category
  • Location - Drone
  • Redacted Audio - Audio Segment
  • Plugin - HubSpot, Text Overlays
  • Comment - Notes

NOTE: When copying single or bulk media, the metadata dropdown displays only metadata present in the selected items. When copying folders, all possible metadata options are displayed.

Add a Hidden Portal

To add a portal that is not visible in the list:

  1. In the Copy modal, select Add Portal.
  2. Enter the URL of the destination portal.
  3. Select Add Portal.
  4. Select the newly added portal from the list and proceed with the copy.

Verify Copy Progress

  1. Go to Control Panel > Workflows > Workflow Queues.
  2. Check the status of your file. A "Finished" status indicates successful completion.
  3. An email notification is sent upon completion.

Verify Copied Media

  1. Navigate to Portals and select the destination portal.
  2. Go to Media Manager or the specified folder location.
  3. The copied media appears in the Media Library.
